Happy Birthday, Ben and sad news : (

On Sunday, May 20th, 2007, Ben had his 8th birthday! We spent the day at his grand-father’s with his wife Mieko. It was a great time and Ben loved his presents and yummy cake from Ganache!

Ben loves his grandfather and Mieko very much. Sadly, “Papi”, passed away yesterday after his long battle with cancer. They spent lots of time together as they shared stories of having to go through chemo and sharing how tired they were from all the medicine. We will all miss Papi very, very much.

Ben has been continuing his chemo every 2 weeks. He feels One most of the time but today he has a bad cough and losing his voice a little. The ARA-C that he had a reaction to over month ago, went well last treatment time. He received one quarter the dose and was pre-medicated with Benadryl and hydrocortisone. He did have a fever of 40ºC for about 3 days but that subsided and he felt much better. He is due for another dose of ARA-C again in about 3 weeks. He will again receive one quarter the dose with pre-medication. We are hoping he will feel One during and after the

treatment.

Ben is writing his 10th book. This one is a novel with, so far, 8 chapters. He loves to write. He has invented a company called “Sunny Side Up Books”. I hope we can actually publish them one day.
