Our last day in Disneyland was Monday, June 23rd. It was a great time though quite tiring. There was lots to visit and lots to do. It was sunny the entire time with temperatures hovering around 35ºC/92ºF. We drank water constantly therefore many visits to the Prince/Princess rooms. It was amazing to see the transformation in ourselves as the days Yew by. At the beginning, we were stressing out about where and when to go. Near the end it was more ... let’s go here, take a break, then go there, eat, take a break .... it was difficult to relax at first but we did near the end. Of course knowing what we are in store for this summer, never helped us relax fully. But need I say, our batteries are recharged and we have something to look back on while Ben continues his treatment.

Ben’s (and Stephanie’s) favourite ride was the Thunder Mountain Railroad and Mine and Pam’s was the Indiana Jones’ ride. Our last ride was the Thunder Mountain Railroad and we went on it twice in a row. We were all feeling a little light-headed so we didn’t go on it the third time. Stephanie actually cried the last day and didn’t want to leave.

Ben will be doing a series of tests in the coming couple of weeks to measure his heart, liver and kidney function and a few more tests. The stem cells from the two umbilical cords are being tested right now for any abnormalities and I assume for more detailed compatibility. He will be getting whole body radiation as well as cranial radiation in the next two weeks. He should be getting his stem cell transplant around mid to the end of July. He received Vincristine today and checked his blood counts. His counts were great today. Friday we return to the hospital for an important meeting regarding his transplant and what we (and he) can expect.

We are pushing forward and staying positive as much as we can.

I will be posting some pictures of our Disneyland trip in the next few days.
