We managed again to have a week of no chemo and his blood counts high enough to go on a mini trip to Cannon Beach in Oregon. Ben spend most of his time jumping over the cold waves of the PaciBc. He enjoyed being outside in the sun and creating games in the sand and in the ocean. It was a nice holiday with excellent weather. It is usually very foggy but the 6 days we spent there, the days and night were great. We could see the milky way and many stars. One day when I get a decent telescope, we’ll be able to see more than with a cheap pair of binoculars.

Difficult to believe that it’s that time again to return to school. On September 4th, Ben will be in grade 3. He loves school and does very well, so we’re hoping this year he’ll do more extra-curricular activities. Having his sister Stephanie in the same school is a great bonus for both of them. Though as all siblings do, they have their moments but they say “I love you”, more than most, I think. Awwww...

As the chemo continues every two weeks, it just so happens that his return to the hospital is also the Brst day of school. I’m sure he would rather be at school. His stay will be for 3 days, so hopefully he won’t miss too much of the first few days of activities. Seeing as he hasn’t had too much chemo lately, Ben’s health seems almost normal (what’s that?!).

There is a Kourageous Kids calendar coming out soon and Ben (and one of his drawings) will be in the calendar. Keep an eye out for it. Want to get a signed copy?! If you would like, I can have a copy sent to you, so please let me know if you would like a copy.

All for now ...
