Ben has been tired but as all kids, he wants to go out and do things when he can. Though he sometimes doesn’t know his, he’ll try and keep up. We went to Kids Market on Granville Island. There he found one of the fun things he likes ... Ugly Dolls! He’s got quite the collection. He even got me collecting them.. addictive. Funny, having kids you tend to follow what they enjoy and actually get into some of the stuA they like ... or maybe it’s just me reliving my childhood... so much for a mid-age crisis ... crisis, what crisis?

Ben has been back on the Dex since Monday. He is showing signs of moodiness, hunger and tiredness. He looks quite pale and his face is bloated. He always manages to smile, which makes us smile too. We stop the Dex Saturday morning but continue the Methotrexate and 6-MP at home and at Disneyland.

Ben’s getting excited about the trip, as any kid would. I really want to give recognition to a great family who gave us their points to be able to stay free in Disneyland for the time we’re away. I know they want to stay anonymous and I certainly respect that, so I’ll just say a great big THANK YOU! for being so generous. It’s difficult to know what to do to say thank you.

This means so much to our whole family to be able to do this... to have this ray of sunshine before the transplant. It gives us a chance to concentrate on a normal life even for just a week. Our family has learned to hang onto any positive event to get us through the less positive ones. You can bet I’ll be taking lots of photos so we can look at them during our 3 month stay at Children’s Hospital.

So we go back Monday morning to check on Ben’s progress. Hope his counts will be fine and we can do something fun more active on the weekend. Now if only we can get the “lovely” Vancouver weather to cooperate.

À bientôt.
