Bonjour. It has been a while since I updated Ben's site.
Things have been going relatively well for Ben. Though he has been tired, here and there, Ben has had good energy since being off the chemo and having stopped the radiation over a month ago. He is in good spirits and continues to go to school regularly.
We were called with a date for his next MRI. It will be November 19th with a meeting with the doctor the next day. Most likely, the next phase of chemo will start then. The doctor has mentioned that we are waiting a little longer so we can get the POG (personalized Onco-Genomics) results to possibly better treat the cancer. POG is a clinical trial that enables doctors to get a better picture of the cancer and therefore use drugs that will have a better chance at inhibiting the growth and/or spreading of new cancer growths. In other words it will be a personalized treatment just for Ben that will hopefully eradicate this cancer.
UPDATE: We have a meeting with the doctor on Tuesday regarding maintenance chemo which will commence that day, Nov. 3rd.
Last week, Ben mentioned about maybe going on a little weekend trip somewhere, since he was feeling fine and had no medications to take, besides the anti-seizure medication. So, at the last minute, we found a cheap deal to Las Vegas, where he wanted to return. We spent the weekend there visiting lots of places, exhibits and we took in a Cirque du Soleil show. It was nice to get away a little but quite tiring. It was nice also to forget about all the treatments and have some time to just "relax", though everything was always in the back of our minds. Since our return I've been sick with the flu, as was Stephanie. We're trying to keep our distance from each other as to not pass that on as it's a nasty one.
Ben has been planning, as he always likes to, his Halloween party. This year another bunch of wild teenagers (ok, they're really nice teenagers), will be attending. Ben has planned other parties for the end of the year and Christmas time. This is his first Halloween bash. As always, he plans everything down to the minute and this year is no different. We have been putting things up on the walls, trying our lights and various machines and effects. This should be a really fun one, again. Of course, I will post photos, if I survive!
Thank you for your continued support in thoughts and prayers for Ben.

XOXOXOXO
